ACK St. Faith’s Parish, Ongata Rongai, was established on 28th March 1982 following deliberations by a planning committee from St. Barnabas Church, Otiende.
The parish was officially named ACK St. Faith’s by the then Archbishop of Kenya, Most Rev. Manasses Kuria, on 16th July 1982.
What began as a small fellowship meeting in homes has grown into a vibrant parish serving hundreds of believers and impacting the wider Ongata Rongai community.
Arrangements for the construction of a permanent church building began in 1987 through fundraising initiatives organized by the parish.
On 16th August 1987, the Most Rev. Manasses Kuria consecrated the site and conducted the groundbreaking ceremony.
On 21st November 1987, Mr. Peter Munene presented the architectural plans.
Construction was completed in October 1998, and the church was consecrated on 17th October 1999 by The Rt. Rev. Jeremiah Taama.
On 10th December 1991, the Parish Church Council (PCC) was informed of the proposal to establish the Diocese of Kajiado.
“That St. Faith’s Parish Council, considering its geographical location in Kajiado District and its mission to reach the Maasai community, resolves unanimously to become part of the proposed Diocese of Kajiado.”
This resolution was later endorsed by the congregation through a referendum.
